St Joseph’s are the proud winners of the Emma & Eamon Sweeney Memorial Cup at a blitz in St Caireall’s P.S. in Aghyaran.

“The character, skill and belief of these boys was abundantly evident today and I’m very proud of them!” reported Master Hanratty after the boys received the Emma & Eamon Sweeney Memorial Cup. The boys played with tenacity all day and overcame a three point half-time deficit against the Donegal National School Champs, Petticoe P.S.!

Again, they came from behind in the final against Gael Scoil P.S., Strabane, trailing by five points at the break. Thanks to a resolute second half performance by St Joseph’s, the boys staged a dramatic come back, and Kieran McD calmly slotted the ball past the keeper just as the final whistle blew!

The boys certainly lived up to our team motto this year…’St Joseph’s never quit until the final whistle!’
